Baby Bolero

Yet another little FO to share.  Apparently my needles have been on fire lately.

This little number worked up with less than 2 skeins of Snuggly Baby Bamboo DK.  This yarn is great for warmer climates because it is 80% bamboo/20% wool.  In fiber terms, that means there’s just enough wool in the mix to give the yarn body and memory, but not so much heat.  It helps the bamboo hold it’s shape and lend itself better to blocking.

The bolero is worked in two pieces and then seamed in a puzzle-like way.  The construction is a little confusing, but very fun.  The pattern is available from sizes newborn to 7 years and can have short or long sleeves.  I worked up the smallest size with short sleeves as this was a sample for the shop.  (You can see it is the same sweater as the cover image.)  There is a similar pattern written for women’s sizes and worked up in the Summer Stripes DK that I might have to make for me.

It is from Book #392 Jumping Jellybeans (which isn’t in the Ravelry database yet).  You can find my project details here.
