Being Brave

I’m taking my scooter on her maiden voyage on real roads tomorrow.  The speedometer/odometer cables need to fixed (knowing how fast and far you’re going is *really* helpful…) and the shop is next to my work.  What better way to get it there than to ride it?  I will be wearing my husband’s mother’s leather jacket for warmth and confidence.  Wish me luck.

Henrietta

Meet Henrietta.  My new and absolutely lovely bicycle.

She and I went for our first real ride yesterday.  We went to the Shoppe (by way of a slightly long detour).  She is a simple cruiser.  (A Fuji Bike Sanibel DX if you want to be technical.  I purchased her from Marty’s.) No gears, foot brakes, and a nice big squooshy seat.  I love the custom black fenders and basket she came with.

And I’d just like to say one more thing… She totally kicked my ass on this first ride.
